What potential does Austria have for Sonnenfelder (Agri-PV)?

If every 2nd municipality in Austria implemented a 10 ha Sonnenfeld, the generated solar electricity production could cover 17 % of Austria's total electricity consumption.

There are around 2.100 municipalities in Austria. 1,000 agri-PV systems (one in every second municipality) can produce 12 TWh of solar electricity, which corresponds to 17% of our total electricity consumption.

The great thing is that 80% of the land needed for this can still be used for agriculture. The area under the rows of modules is also used. A flowering strip provides a habitat for small animals and insects and thus increases biodiversity in the field. Only 2 % of the area is needed for technology and anchoring the system. That is only 2,000 m2 for each municipality and per agri-PV system and produces solar power for more than 3,000 households.

Am I ready for hectares of solar power?

An area of at least 5 hectares in size should not be a problem. Will it be suitable for agricultural photovoltaics?
I hope so and will do the "area check"!
